Non-immigrant visa application forms now submitted electronically at U.S. Embassies overseas.

Mar 25, 2005

The U.S. Embassy in London is now requiring that Form DS-156 be filled out and submitted on-line. This is in order to generate a barcode. The paper version of the form is no longer being accepted. The paper versions of Forms DS-157 and DS-158, when necessary, should accompany the documentation submitted at the time of the interview.

Other posts, including Paris, seem to be accepting both the paper and electronically filed DS-156. Be sure to check on the website of the specific post where you are making your non-immigrant visa application to find out ahead of time which version of Form DS-156 is currently being accepted at the time of your interview.
